Location Policies

Additional Drivers

All drivers must have a valid UK or EU driver`s license in their possession to rent a vehicle. The original license will be verified via our online ID check in service once you have made a booking.

The renters drivers license must be valid for the entire rental period and, renters must be a have held UK or EU Driving license for at least 2 years.

UK driving licence holders regardless of country of residence, are required to send their DVLA Check My Licence Code (https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence) by email to reservations. (For Northern Ireland driving licences, please use the following https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/services/view-or-share-your-driving-licence-information).

European customers (for those visiting the United Kingdom) will be required to provide details of their residency while in the UK. For all EU licenses an up-to-date proof of motoring convictions or endorsements are also mandatory and must be uploaded during your check in.

Please remember that you must carry your driver’s license at all times when driving your rental car.

The driver license must be written in Latin, Roman alphabet. Licences issued in non-EU are not accepted.

Driver licenses will be accepted if issued in the following country(ies): United Kingdom, any country in the European Union (EU and EEC).

After Hours Returns

EZ Drive do provide a 24 hour contactless service at all locations but bookings for out of hours must be made during business hours to ensure all checks have been completed. A fee will be applied to your contract for any out of hour collection or drop offs.

Coverages

All our vehicles are covered by a Fully Comprehensive Insurance policy but do have a minimum of £1500 Excess in case of a collision or damage.

Renters may purchase Zero Excess waiver at the beginning of the booking which relieves them of all financial responsibility for loss or damage to the Rental vehicle as long as they comply with the terms of the rental agreement.

All our standard bookings now include our unique Zero Deposit option. The renter is still liable for the excess of £1500.00 unless one of our excess waiver packages are purchased. We do reserve the right to authorise a deposit if we have concerns with any information provided.

We offer 2 packages to either lower your deposit to £600 or reduce it to £0. The cost will be either £15 or £28 per day depending on package and this must be purchased prior to the booking commencing to be valid. Otherwise, there will be an Excess of £1500 liable for any loss or damage during booking

Please be aware if Excess packages are not purchased, then damages up to excess amount which have been caused by you will be claimed by EZ Drive together with administration fees, which may also be applied. Please be aware that the excess waiver does not include damage to windows, wheels (tyres and rims), undercarriage, rocker panels, roof, interior, loss of keys, dashboard, or antenna, nor does it cover damage caused by driving on unpaved roads or with poor pavement conditions, by refuelling with the wrong type of fuel or damage to and/or loss of vehicle accessories (such as warning triangles, hi- vis vests, child seats, etc.) or the hirer’s own property.

Cross-border Restrictions

We do not permit travel outside of the United Kingdom.

Driving Restrictions

Minimum rental age is 23 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

Maximum rental age is 70 years.

The driver license must be written in Latin, Roman alphabet.
Licences issued in non-EU are not accepted.
Driver licenses will be accepted if issued in the following country(ies): United Kingdom, Any country in the European Union (EU and EEC)

Renters must be 25 years of age and have held a UK or EU Driving license for at least 2 years. A copy of your driver’s license is required by the insurance underwriters and must be uploaded when you check in online. In keeping with privacy legislation, the image will not be shared outside EZ Drive or its insurer unless illegal activity is suspected, at which point it could be shared with Police or a duly authorised enforcement body.

You may rent if you are 23 years to 25 years old but with prior approval from our insurers. For approval from our insurers, we will require the back and front of licence and a DVLA check code, which must be sent or uploaded to us at least 24 hours before booking commences. For young drivers under the age of 25 a daily surcharge of £40.00 per day will also be applied. The maximum driver age is 70.

Financial Policy

All Credit and Debit Cards must be valid and must match the renters Drivers License.

Please Note
If the main driver does not provide a valid card or does not have sufficient funds, EZ Drive reserves the right to charge additional fees or refuse to release the vehicle. In this case, your reservation will be charged in accordance with the agreed no-show policy.

Other

EZ Drive does not guarantee specific brands or colors of vehicles at any time. If the vehicle that you reserved is not available, an alternate or upgraded vehicle may be assigned at management discretion.

Child Safety Seats are available at this location with a minimum of 24-hour advance booking. The cost of the Child Safety Seat is £10.00 per day. Since availability at times is limited, please reserve child seats in advance.

Currently One Way Rentals are not available and all vehicles must be returned to the booking location.

Pick-up Instructions

If your vehicle is needed beyond the due date stated at the time of the opening of the contract, the customer MUST inform the rental office immediately. The rate is subject to change.

When a vehicle is reserved and rented, the confirmed rate is only good during that specific time period. Any extension, or revision of the original reservation of any amount of time will result in a rate change. Rates are not pro-rated.

EZ Drive offer a grace period of two hours between the booked pick up time and the actual time the vehicle is picked up. After this period has lapsed, a "no show" fee may apply. Keep in mind that the grace period is not applicable outside the opening hours of the local station. If you are likely to be late, we advise that you contact the branch directly. When returning your rental, we typically offer a grace period of 29 minutes between the agreed drop off time and the actual time the vehicle is returned. After this period has lapsed, an additional rental day may be charged.

Refueling Policy

Vehicles are supplied on a like for like basis. Fuel is at the hirers expense. Our fuel policy is available at each location for inspection. Hirers are recommended to return the car with the same fuel to avoid charges.
